Hello! My name is Maxwell Lerret. I am the 8th grade homeroom teacher as well as the middle school Math instructor teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. I was born in Milwaukee and raised in Grafton, WI, where I attended Grafton High School. I then attended the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee where I earned my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education with a minor in Natural Science. Throughout my experiences in the field I have learned the importance of a diverse and culturally rich classroom with students who are able to celebrate their own individuality while simultaneously learning about everyone else’s culture. Giving each student that platform within the classroom community lifts them up and gives them a sense of pride for who they are. Each child brings their own story and their own experiences to school and uniting each student is a goal of mine. Although I may have minored in Natural Science I learned to appreciate mathematics throughout my time at UWM. Science and math go hand in hand and I quickly learned that math is a wonderful tool when approached with the right mindset and the right attitude.

A bit about who I am and my interests: I am an avid sports fan and, more specifically, a Wisconsin sports fan. The Packers, Bucks, and Brewers have been a joy to watch and follow for my entire life and I would not be who I am without those teams. I love watching live music and my family has made it a point to try and enjoy that as often as possible. I am so thankful for the staff at CEE and I am looking forward to having an amazing first year of teaching, learning and growing!
