Hello families! My name is Maggie Beal and I am proud to serve as the Dean of Instruction at Catholic East Elementary School. As an educator, I believe that every scholar can learn and grow personally and academically. As a leader, I believe building relationships with scholars and families and getting to know the whole of the scholar is a priority.
I have a passion for education and am driven to help develop the future leaders of our city and of the world. It will continue to be a privilege and a challenge to work with the students and staff at Catholic East Elementary as we focus on the exciting, learning and faith-filled year ahead. As a huge Milwaukee sports fan, I value the camaraderie I see between players and coaches, which is not unlike the camaraderie among a school staff and family that is committed to growing scholars.
My career began with Seton Catholic Schools at Our Lady Queen of Peace in January of 2018, teaching 5th-8th grade in homerooms, ELA, religion, science, social studies, WIN, and guided reading groups. I also had the opportunity to be the 7th and 8th grade soccer coach and loved every minute of working with scholars in and out of the classroom!
On a more personal note, I am the youngest of six children. I grew up in Kenosha and graduated from St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy. While in high school, I ran cross country and track and field and qualified for the state championships. I was recruited for track and field to Lake Superior State University in Sault Sainte Marie, MI, graduating with a Bachelor’s in History in 2015. I graduated from Southern New Hampshire University in 2018 with a Master’s in Military History and I earned a second Master’s in Higher Education from Cardinal Stritch University in 2020. I have eight nieces and nephews, with whom I enjoy spending as much time as possible. My Rottweiler/Coonhound mix, Raina, believes it’s her mission in life to spend her days following me around and begging for treats and attention.
I am also the Head of House for the Faith House of Altruismo, the House of Giving and Service. This special House is known for striking a balance between bold strength and altruistic giving — a team that knows that real power comes not from looking out for yourself but from empowering others. We care deeply about lifting others up, but they also maintain a fiercely competitive spirit and pride.
