6th Grade Teacher
My name is Mrs. Jodi Hundt, and I am the 6th grade homeroom teacher. Also, I will be teaching Middle School Science and Social Studies. I grew up on a small farm in central Wisconsin, but have called Milwaukee home for nearly 30 years. I have been privileged to teach grades K thru 8 for nearly 25 years in three very special, urban, mission-driven schools. I love teaching and cannot imagine doing anything better or more important.Teaching allows me the privilege of deeply considering and revering children and planting the seeds of the future every day. I am grateful daily for the opportunity to inspire students to become the creative, thinking and feeling individuals they are meant to be and to encourage them to look forward to participating in and shaping the world in which we live.
When not teaching, I enjoy cooking, traveling, and being outdoors - especially while gardening, camping, hiking, kayaking, or just sitting observing nature. I love puzzles and riddles of all kinds, reading books, and going on long walks with my husband, Ryan, and our dog, Ivy.
I look forward to this school year, getting to know more of the Catholic East community and getting back to a more “normal” educational environment. I cannot wait to meet the scholars and open their eyes to the world through the lenses of science and history, two of my favorite subjects! I love inspired idea sharing, so please reach out with any questions or ideas!
