2nd Grade Teacher
Hello families! My name is Jennifer Bustos, and I am excited to be the 2nd grade teacher at Catholic East Elementary. I have been teaching for 5 years, starting as a K-4 Special Education teacher with Milwaukee Public Schools. Then I taught K-5 regular education for two years. I was then moved to be the 1st Grade regular education teacher. The MPS school I worked at had a 40% population of students with disabilities. As a result, I have great experience working with students of all abilities in early childhood. In April of 2022, I was offered the position of 4th Grade teacher at Catholic East Elementary School and I happily took the position.
I have a bachelor’s degree in History from Cardinal Stritch University. I also completed my teaching license certification at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I am licensed to teach Pre-K to 3rd Grade.
As your child’s teacher, I will ensure that your child feels safe, loved, and most importantly academically challenged at their level. I will differentiate all instruction to meet the needs of every child in my classroom. Our classroom will be our community. I want every child to feel like they belong and that they have ownership of their learning environment.
On a personal note I am married and have three children, all of whom attend Catholic East Elementary. My children attended Catholic East even before I started teaching there. It was the community, structure, and rigorous academics that made me want to be a part of the Catholic East family. My family loves Catholic East Elementary!
