Happy Friday Fourth Grade Families!
It has been an amazing week here in the 4th grade. I feel so blessed and honored to be teaching all of these incredible kiddos. We have spent the week getting back into the swing of things and practicing our rules, routines, and procedures. We've also spent a lot of time learning about each other. I will be sending home a letter introducing myself this weekend so you can get to know me better as your child's teacher.
On Tuesday I sent home several surveys about your scholars. Thank you so much to those of you who sent them back right away. I know the beginning of the year can be overwhelming with all the paper work that is being sent home and needing to be returned.
Each Friday I will send home a weekly update with things that we worked on in class that week. I will also put any reminders in for the upcoming week. I try to put the weekly newsletter on my classroom page as well in case you missed it.
This weekend I will also send out a copy of our classroom expectations, routines, and procedures, behavior system, and uniform expectations.
Reminders for Next Week:
Monday: No School
Friday: Spirit Wear Day- refer to the handbook for rules
Snack: This year scholars will have the opportunity to have a morning snack during their morning lessons. Feel free to send your scholar with a snack. Hand-held snacks, or snacks in bags are ideal since they will be working and eating. We ask that you consider sending healthy snacks like fruit, granola bars, yogurt etc. Please shy away from sending things like chips, cookies, or candy. Scholars will not be allowed to eat candy as a snack. Please do not send juice or soda with snack. Scholars will be allowed to get a drink from the water fountain if they are thirsty. There is a nut allergy in our class, so we ask that you do not send snacks with nuts in them. **While I do have extra snacks for scholars who forget snacks every once in a while, I do not have snacks for scholars who do not have snack every day. If you are able to donate snacks to our classroom for our friends who forget from time to time please let me know, and make sure that they are individually wrapped.**
Water Bottles: Scholars may bring a water bottle to school to keep in their classroom to drink from throughout the day. The bottle may only have water in it, no Gatorade, juice, soda, etc. This year we are asking that for safety no glass water bottles are sent, and to send water bottles that are reusable, plastic, and clear.
