Happy New Year!

We began our week with a "Culture Camp" revisit. for our scholars. Ms. Jones went over expectations, school dress code, and lunchroom procedures. We also shared that we began the "blue" color category! The scholars are very excited about this, and we have been using it since Wednesday. "Blue" gives an opportunity to be able to be seen in a light that stretches us, and allows those students who always do the right things, who hold themselves to a constant set of high expectations to be recognized. Both your scholar and I appreciate the kinds words parents have written in their scholar's homework assignment notebook.

In math, we have been introduced to reading and making pie graphs. We will be expected to conduct a survey, prepare the data and create a pie chart by the end of next week on an individual basis. We also worked with both the customary units and metric units of measurement this week.

Our third grade scholars did a magnificent job in reading at mass this past Thursday. They also provided the following acts of service in the mass itself: alter servers, gift bearers, petition readers, a cantor reader, and a young lady who did the orders of worship. It is wonderful when parents are able to be there to support/celebrate the mass with us! We are grateful!
