April showers...us with gifts and talents!

We had the most creative retellings of the infamous fable The Ant and the Grasshopper.

Our scholars presented in groups of 3 and 4 to the class.  There were some very resourceful ants, some empathetic ants, and some ants with "attitude" as they dealt with the "fiddlings" of a musically oriented grasshopper. What a wonderful way to celebrate our skills of retelling important parts of a story, and a week of testing.  "Retellings" is a skill the scholars are studying with our new reading program. They will be tested individually and in a group next week before our Easter break. This was a fun outlet to have them move around, talk and create after a week of testing.

You would be proud of your scholars as they went back to double check the directions, and their answers after they finished a section of the WI-Forward test. They received an eagle for our "Hundreds Chart" for the tenacity in going back to check they had answered all of the questions and made sure they had followed the directives in any three of the questions in a section.

I wish to thank all of the families for helping out with the fish fries; making the tradion strong and wonderfully rich! Also, thank you for sending in items for the third grade basket for the Gala celebration in early May.  Your children were so proud to bring in the items.  Enjoy the beautiful weather!
